About UMassOnlineMessage From the PresidentPresident Jack M. Wilson
Nearly 150 years ago, the University of Massachusetts was founded to broaden access to learning. Today, through UMassOnline, the University is able to extend its tradition of excellence beyond the geographical constraints of its five campuses. UMassOnline is the University of Massachusetts. Whether at home, at work, in libraries, or even on the road, students with Internet access have a virtual front row seat in our classrooms. UMassOnline delivers the same world-class faculty and programs that are offered on our campuses in Amherst, Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell and the Medical School. As the founding CEO of UMassOnline, I take special interest and pride in the growth and success of UMassOnline, which today is as integral to the University as its actual campuses. Because we understand the essential role of continuous learning in today's economy and society, we measure our success as a university by how well we are able to broaden access to a UMass education. With UMassOnline, we are achieving that success.
