Dr. Pasquale is Director of the Division of Curriculum and Faculty Development in the Offices of Medical Education and Faculty Administration, and Assistant Professor of Family Medicine and Community Health at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. Prior to joining the University, she was a lecturer on medical education at Harvard Medical School, and a tenured associate professor in higher education. She brings 28 years of experience in higher education, including medical education, in both public and private sectors to the University.
She holds a Ph.D. in Educational Administration from the University of Connecticut, a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Counseling Psychology from Anna Maria College, a Master of Music from the University of Miami, FL, and a B.A in music from UMass Lowell.
Dr. Pasquale has spearheaded numerous online and face-to-face curriculum and faculty development initiatives from the institutional to international level within the higher education community - on the undergraduate, graduate and continuing education level - and that span the institution's Medical School, Graduate School of Nursing, and Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. Significantly involved in teaching and learning with technology, she has led faculty development programs and initiatives that advance the use of technology in support of teaching and learning. She regularly consults with faculty and institutions, and presents her work nationally and internationally.
Dr. Pasquale serves on the Board of Directors of the International Association of Medical Science Educators (IAMSE); the Advisory Board of the Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School Institute for Music and Brain Science; and the Board of Advisors of the College of Arts and Sciences - Division of Sciences, UMass-Lowell, where she has established an endowed faculty award for the advancement of teaching and learning in the sciences. She is actively involved with various faculty development and medical education associations, including serving as Chair for multiple committees. She was Founding President and Director of the New England Faculty Development Consortium, Inc.; and chaired the UMass-Lowell Alumni Council from 2002-2006. |
