Evidence-based Policy: An Evaluative Scientist's Tool Box

Developing effective programs and policies requires the systematic assessment of available data which inform their design and implementation. This course will present the rationale, methodologies and frameworks for developing and evaluating evidence in healthcare. Students will gain the necessary tools to engage in evidence-based practice - critically evaluating evidence/new information that guide the design and implementation of healthcare and public health policies. Also, students will learn how to evaluate the success of public health programs and policy instruments.
