Nationalism, Ethnicity and Identity in Politics

A comparative exploration of nationalism, ethnic conflict and identity-based politics in various parts of the world. Students learn about different theoretical approaches through historical and contemporary case studies of the relationship between identity and politics. A discussion of relevant films and literary texts supplements the course readings. Recommended prior:  POLISCI 111 or 121 or equivalent.
