Nationalism, Ethnicity & Identity in Politics

A comparative exploration of nationalism, ethnic conflict and identity-based politics in various parts of the world. Students learn about different theoretical approaches through historical and contemporary case studies of the relationship between identity and politics. Discussion of relevant films and literary texts supplements the course readings. Recommended prior: POLISCI 111 or 121 or equivalent. (Gen.Ed. SB, G)
