Online courses are taught asynchronous meaning you can access your coursework at any time of the day or week - there is no campus residency requirement so you can complete your degree online from anywhere in the world - you choose the time that works best for you. This approach is attracting students from all 50 states and 23 foreign countries.
Students who live in the New England area also have the option of taking Part-Time MBA courses at any of our three Massachusetts satellite campus locations; evenings in Shrewsbury or Holyoke, or alternating weekends in Pittsfield.
Take Two Courses Before Applying
As a non-degree student (not yet formally accepted in the program), you can take two courses (typically 6 credits) before applying. This gives you the opportunity to experience courses in the Part-Time MBA Program and see if it's a good fit with your personal and professional goals. Admission to the UMass Amherst Online Part-Time MBA Program at the Isenberg School of Management is based on several criteria: Academic history, GMAT or GRE performance, motivation, aptitude for graduate-level work, and professional experience (3+ years post undergraduate work experience required) are all taken into consideration. No one academic background is favored in the selection of candidates. The Part-Time MBA Program currently attracts students from all 50 US states and 23 foreign countries. In addition, 49% of students in the program are currently employed by Fortune 100 companies.
To gain admission to the Online Part-Time MBA program, you must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited US institution (or its equivalent) and submit official Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) OR Graduate Records Examination (GRE) scores, two (2) letters of recommendation (professional preferred), official transcripts from all colleges/universities attended (1 copy) and your resume/CV.
If you do not have an undergraduate degree in business or have not completed undergraduate level courses in accounting, finance, economics and management , you have several option to satisfy the program prerequisite:
1. Complete the UMass Amherst Isenberg Foundations of Business course which is an intensive 70 hour course offered exclusively online during the Summer OR Winter semesters or,
2. Complete the above courses at the undergraduate level at an accredited college or university.
Admission to the Online Part-Time MBA Program is made throughout the year. There are three application deadlines: July 1, December 1, and May 1.
