Leadership Excellence Certificate
About the Program Tuition and Fees Accreditation Plan of Study Registration
The UMass Donahue Institute (UMDI), in collaboration with UMass Amherst Continuing & Professional Education, is offering an online Leadership Excellence Certificate program designed for the busy schedules and tight budgets that are standard in today's organizational environment. Using the same approach as UMDI's acclaimed face-to-face training, the Certificate is adapted to an online course structure that flexes around your schedule-offering both convenience and cost-savings for individuals or groups.
The 6 module certificate provides 36 training-hours of hands-on learning over nine weeks in an interactive online classroom which will equip key personnel with the mindset and skills they need to become effective leaders. Projects and case studies will be customized to provide opportunities for students to analyze leadership issues and concepts occurring in their own organizations, allowing for the development of real-time solutions.
Geared towards front-line and mid-level managers-particularly those who have been promoted through the ranks-this new Certificate program is a way for businesses, public agencies, and non-profit organizations to bring the high-level training UMDI is known for to their staff in a cost-effective and convenient way.

Spring Session: Monday, March 5th through Friday, May 4th, 2012
Summer Session: Monday, July 9th through Friday, September 7th, 2012

A certificate and 3.6 Continuing Education Units (CEUs) will be awarded to those who complete the course requirements. The cost of this 9-week, 6-module, 36 training-hour course is $1,750.00 per person, which includes all course materials and transcript fees. The Leadership Excellence Certificate Program contains six modules that are taken over nine weeks and use the most cutting edge on-line classroom technology for interactive learning. The modules are facilitated by a highly experienced Donahue Institute Leadership Instructor and are designed to increase self-awareness, ability to self monitor, self correct, and to accurately read the environment to determine what action is most appropriate. In other words, this certificate program builds engaged, growing, inspiring, and, most importantly, genuine leaders from the inside out.
