Certificate in Graphic Design and Digital Imaging

About:

Over the past two decades, the graphic design industry has moved from predominantly design-for-print to a constantly changing mix of print design and interactive design for DVDs, the Web, email, and other media. To succeed in this rapidly changing field, graphics professionals need more than a strong foundation in graphic design principles - they need the technical know-how to incorporate their designs into today's media.

UMass Lowell's Certificate Program in Graphic Design and Digital Imaging offers students interested in breaking into the field of graphic design and electronic publishing an innovative mix of traditional design courses along with several courses in multimedia, web development, desktop publishing, and more. Previously available to students on campus for the past 15 years, UMass Lowell is now pleased to offer this undergraduate certificate program entirely online. As part of the program, students will complete numerous design projects for their portfolios, and get hands-on experience using software such as Adobe InDesign®, Photoshop®, Illustrator® and others.

Certain courses in this program may also be applied toward UMass Lowell's certificates in Multimedia Applications and Website Design & Development.
