The University of Massachusetts Lowell’s Online Master of Science in Finance is a 10-course master's degree program designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of how financial markets work, and to prepare graduates for careers in corporate finance and financial management.
Offered by UMass Lowell’s Manning School of Business through the Division of Online and Continuing Education, this master’s degree program is available entirely online, providing a convenient format for busy professionals who may be juggling work and family responsibilities. Taught by world-class faculty from the Manning School of Business Finance Department, courses in this graduate degree program allow students to pursue in-depth study in topics such as portfolio management, global financial markets, financial risk management and investment analysis.
Courses are available throughout the year, during the Fall, Spring and Summer semesters. You can take one course per semester or more, depending on your own personal time constraints.

RESIDENTS OF ARKANSAS, KANSAS AND MINNESOTA
The University of Massachusetts Lowell is not presently accepting applications or registrations for online courses, degrees or certificate programs from residents of Arkansas, Kansas or Minnesota. Due to recent legislative changes the University of Massachusetts Lowell is not seeking state authorization to offer online programs in those states. State and federal laws require colleges and universities to receive state authorization to offer online programs in states other than their own. Current UML students that move their residence to one of these states should contact Catherine_Hamilton@uml.edu in Online and Continuing Education to determine their eligibility to continue their program of study.
New students register for courses using UMass Lowell's New Student Non-Degree Course Registration Form. Follow the instructions for registering included on the form. Current students register for their courses online by logging in to the secure Student Information System (SIS).

Applications are accepted and processed year-round. To be considered for admission to this program, applicants must have earned an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher education with a final cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
All applicants must submit the following:
- A completed application, plus the $50 application fee
- A one-page statement of purpose/essay, highlighting your academic and career goals
- Letters of recommendation (3)
- Official undergraduate transcripts
- Official test scores for the GMAT, with a minimum score of 500. This can be waived for undergraduates with a GPA of 3.5 or higher from an AACSB-accredited undergraduate program. UMass Lowell undergraduates with a GPA of 3.2 or higher can have this requirement waived upon receipt of a recommendation by a UMass Lowell faculty member. All others: Have your official test scores sent to UMass Lowell's Office of Graduate Admissions. UMass Lowell's school code is 3911.
- TOEFL for international students: 600+ paper-based, 250+ computer-based, or 100+ Internet-based.
