UMass Lowell Offers New Online Programs in Education, Autism Management, and Engineering Management
New Programs available in both online and blended offerings
UMassOnline, the University of Massachusetts’ online consortium, is proud to announce an expansion of UMass Lowell’s online program portfolio that includes classes for Doctor of Education in Leadership, Behavioral Management in Autism, and an Engineering Management Master’s Program.
With an emphasis on developing introspective and empathetic leadership, the Doctor of Education in Leadership in Schooling (Ed. D) degree offers professional educators the opportunity to complete a terminal degree that, once completed, enables them to pursue leadership roles in K-12 school districts or instructional roles in education departments in higher education.
The Doctorate of Education in Leadership STEM option, is customized for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) educators who wish to advance their skills as researchers and instructional leaders of PK-12 programs. Individuals who work in STEM fields in higher education may also find the program of value.
These Ed.D. offerings are designed as cohort programs, meaning that accepted students will begin their program in the summer and take three calendar years to complete. Courses are completed online during the Summer, Fall, and Spring semesters, and candidates are expected to complete two courses each semester. For these programs there is a one-week, on-campus summer residency required each year.
Additionally, UMass Lowell offers an Online Behavioral Management in Autism Graduate Certificate and an Engineering Management Master's Program in response to popular demand.
Given the increasing demand for qualified behavior analysis support professionals, UMass Lowell has added a four-course graduate certificate in Behavioral Management to its array of graduate Behavioral Analysis online programs. This certificate program is designed to provide students with knowledge of behavior management interventions, skill acquisition procedures, collection and analysis of data, and behavior assessment. This program has been approved by the Behavioral Analyst Certification Board (BACB) for the BCaBA coursework requirement and it is designed to help prepare students to take the BACB BCaBA Certification Exam.
Long recognized as a leader in engineering education, UMass Lowell is now offering its Engineering Management Master's Degree program entirely online. This program is a great way for technical professionals to gain additional management skills. Students who do not hold an engineering degree can enhance their technical skills by selecting specific engineering courses. The 12-course degree program has three concentrations: Design and Manufacturing, Operations and Supply Management, and Engineering Services/Infrastructure Management.
“UMass Lowell works hard to ensure we offer programs and classes to reflect today’s changing job market,” said Catherine Kendrick, Senior Executive Director, Market Development and Online Programs at UMass Lowell. “We are proud that our faculty continues to offer online courses that are both timely and relevant.”
