Nurse Educator Post-Master's Certificate -

The Graduate School of Nursing at the University of Massachusetts Medical School is proud to partner with NEA in providing members access to one of the nation’s top Nurse Educator Post-Master's Certificate (PMC) Programs.

About the Program

The Post Master’s Certificate is designed for individuals who have earned a master's degree in nursing from a program accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission or the Collegiate Commission on Nursing Education.

Our 11-credit certificate program is available 100% online and generally completed within 2 years.  The program addresses the Core Competencies of Nurse Educators identified by the National League for Nursing (NLN).  Graduates of our program are eligible to sit for the Certified Nurse Educator exam offered by the NLN after completing two years or more of full-time employment in an academic faculty role.

Program Curriculum

Courses offered in the program include: Teaching and Curriculum Development, Advanced Instructional Methods, Identifying and Measuring Outcomes, as well as a 270 hour hands-on Teaching Practicum that will be coordinated in your local community. This practicum offers you the opportunity to enact the role of the clinical nurse educator and begin to synthesize leadership concepts into the academic environment.

The Graduate School of Nursing (GSN) is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), a national nursing education accrediting body. The University of Massachusetts is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC).

Program Costs

NEA members receive a 10% discount on online course tuition.  Cost per credit is $427.50 plus applicable fees and cost of books.  The average total cost to complete the program is $5,500.
