Kimberly McLaughlin joins UMassOnline as the Interim Director of Operations. Ms. McLaughlin served as the Director at CareerWorks, the One-Stop Career Center located in downtown Brockton, operated by the University of Massachusetts Donahue Institute, from 2004 - 2012. CareerWorks provides services to both job seekers and employers in the Brockton area that include job fairs, recruitments, workshops, trainings and assistance with job matching.
Prior to becoming Director of CareerWorks, she served as the Deputy Director of Workforce Development at the Massachusetts Department of Labor and Workforce Development. In this capacity, she managed job training and employment programs throughout the Commonwealth, including the implementation of the Workforce Investment Act and the state wide roll out of the One-Stop Career Center Initiative.
Ms. McLaughlin also served in the Fiscal Affairs Division of the Executive Office of Administration and Finance. Her additional Massachusetts State House service included positions as a Legislative Aide in the House of Representatives and Chief of Staff in the State Senate.
Ms. McLaughlin holds a Master's Degree from the McCormack Institute of Public Affairs at the University of Massachusetts and a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from Boston College and a leadership certificate from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
Ms. McLaughlin lives in Canton with her husband, John and their three children.
