UMass Pride

Here at the University of Massachusetts, we have a strong sense of community and pride. Our ability to provide a high-quality yet affordable education places us ahead of other universities. In fact, we are proud to say that The Times Higher Education World University Rankings, which ranks universities internationally, has placed us among the Top 100 universities in the world and as the No. 1 public university in New England!

We owe much of the credit to our success to our established faculty. This wonderful group of professionals includes a Nobel Laureate, Pulitzer Prize winners, members of the National Academy of Sciences, an American Book Award winner and Fulbright, Guggenheim, MacArthur and Mellon fellows. Twelve have also been named to the list of the World’s Most Influential Scientific Minds of 2014.

Our achievements in education and staffing help us attract competitive students each year. Throughout the five campuses there is a total of 73,000 students, with 16,000 graduating annually. In addition, students’ positive experiences at UMass gives them incentive to stay and begin their post-graduate lives in Massachusetts. Nearly three-quarters of recent graduates live and work within the state, while 60 percent stay long term. We work to foster students learning and to aid them in their fields and future careers.

There are countless reasons why we love and take pride in our University. These are just a few standout examples of what makes UMass the exceptional university that it is.
