The Public Administration program is offered as both a BA and BS Degree. These degrees are for students interested in pursuing a professional career in local, state or national government. The program is interdisciplinary in nature, drawing on courses from the Economics, English, and Political Science departments. Students develop critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills in all three areas.
The BA in Public Administration will prepare students to work in the public sector at the local, state or federal level in positions requiring more interaction with the public, such as social and public services. Students in the BA program are required to complete two years in a foreign language (or demonstrate second-year competency). The program's graduates will understand the nature of politics and policy making, display competence in economic and fiscal analysis, and communicate their work effectively to a broad audience.
